Gene (is that short for Genius?) Love your work. This is an awesome macr. Love the title too. I could spend all afternoon viewing your site....feasting my eyes - to use a cliche'. Guess what? We are going to Blowing Rock, NC soon. Ever heard of it? North Carolina Man: I admire you! from Anne, just up the road in VA.

Gene Hilton replied:

:-) Yes, I have! I have NEVER been though! I must explore the mountains more! Care to read this? http://tinyurl.com/7mewv7g and possibly listen to this? http://tinyurl.com/7g2prjy :-) Trying my hand at other art forms...

Very cool macro Gene, I like the title too!

Gene Hilton replied:

Thank you Bill, yes, sometimes that title can be harder than taking the image! Kinda gives a bit more personality to the photograph, also. :o)

About Gene Hilton

Gene Hilton

I think some of the early artistic influences for me, growing up, were the illustrations in Dr. Seuss books, Sunday comics and trips to the Louvre in Paris and El Prado in Madrid -perhaps, to a lesser degree, art on the walls at home. ['All is Vanity' -used to freak me out] I love cubism, impressionism, pointillism, well, all sorts of environmental and fantasy interpretations are awesome! Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, M.C.Escher... I've always enjoyed drawing, mostly with pen/ink and usually in collage format, but have done some other sketching. I'd love to pursue acrylics, water colors and other mediums at some point, but photography is my main interest. Guess it started with a 35mm Yashica which I bought for about thirty bucks...
